Missing teeth can be the cause of both physical and emotional distress for many patients. Prompt replacement is important for many reasons, but especially to avoid developing additional dental problems that can limit treatment options.
A dental bridge can be used to replace one or more missing teeth and can be either a removable appliance or fixed. Dental bridges provide a conservative and highly affordable option and modern technology enables Drs. Monroe to create a natural looking replacement that can last for many years.
When all of the top or bottom arches of teeth have been lost, a denture can be created to restore function and the ability to eat and speak normally. Dentures can be removable or fixed, using dental implants to anchor them in a procedure called “all-on-four”. Whenever possible, Drs. Monroe will recommend an implant secured denture, strategically placing as few as four dental implants for a comfortable and permanent solution.
Dental implants are a more permanent solution for missing teeth. The implant actually replaces the root of the tooth, becoming fully integrated with the bone. Dental implants are generally the most expensive replacement option, but they also require the least maintenance. Not all patients qualify for dental implants. The location of the missing tooth as well as the overall health of the patient and bone structure will be evaluated before the dentist recommends treatment.
Dr. Clement Monroe is a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, demonstrating his commitment to providing the highest level of care for dental implant patients. In many cases, Dr. Monroe can complete the entire procedure in his Pinehurst dentist office.
